MEMBERSHIP

If you are interested in joining the Society please contact the Membership Secretary (see Contacts page). Because the membership list is at present full, it may be necessary for your name to be placed on the Waiting List, which she maintains. Those on the list are invited to join the Society in strict order according to their date of application (subject only to a priority system which applies to members of other NADFAS Societies who have moved house from more than 20 miles away).

There is no charge for joining the Waiting List but waiting members who elect to go on the Society’s Mailing List pay a one-off charge of £10.  There is a £7 charge for attending any of the Society’s regular lectures and you may also be able to attend other events on payment of the normal charge.  You should however note that we have to give priority at all events to the Members of the Society and it might in certain cases be necessary to exclude guests.

Members are reminded that the Society’s notice board is displayed at every meeting and that this will display a copy of the Society’s Constitution and Byelaws as well as a summary of the insurance that has been arranged for the Society by NADFAS.  All of us as members have agreed to accept the terms of these documents.  In particular members should familiarise themselves with the insurance summary and should be aware that it is their responsibility to ensure that they have insurance in place to meet their own requirements. Questions can be raised through the Membership Secretary who can provide a copy summary. The Society cannot be held responsible for any personal accident or loss, damage or theft of members’ personal property.
